19-Year Waterlogging: Residents Block Jamalpur-Tangail Highway in Protest

Residents of at least five areas in Jamalpur blocked the Jamalpur-Tangail highway for two hours to protest 19 years of persistent waterlogging. The waterlogging, caused by illegal encroachment on drainage paths, has left hundreds of households stranded and disrupted agricultural production on 500 acres of land. The blockade was lifted following assurances of immediate drainage improvements from municipal officials.
