Death of three pregnant women due to lack of boat ambulance services in Kunderchar

Three pregnant women, Shahida Akter, Mitu Akter, and Nurunnahar, died in Shariatpur's Kunderchar Union over the past 18 months because they could not reach the hospital in time. Two government-provided boat ambulances assigned to Naria and Zajira upazilas have remained non-functional since 2019 due to a lack of drivers and fuel, leading to a complete breakdown of emergency medical transport for char residents.
