Nationwide Dengue Outbreak 2026: 137 Deaths and 2,800 Hospitalizations Reported with Prevention Campaign Initiated

Since January 2026, a significant dengue outbreak has affected Bangladesh, resulting in a cumulative total of 137 confirmed deaths and approximately 2,800 hospitalizations as of September 9, 2026. The government has initiated a three-month nationwide 'Deshbyapi Dengue Protirodh o Porichchonno Obhijan-2026' prevention and cleaning campaign starting September 12 to combat the spread of Aedes mosquitoes.
