Power supply disruption in Bandarban due to landslide and rain-damaged electric pole

On July 6, 2026, heavy rainfall caused a landslide on the Keranihat-Bandarban road at Reicha, near Hotel Green Peak. This led to the collapse and tilting of a 33kV power transmission pole. The incident caused a power outage across Bandarban Sadar, Rowangchhari, Ruma, and Thanchi upazilas. Repair teams are currently working on the site to restore the electricity supply.
