Escalating Riverbank Erosion Damages 1.5 km of All-Weather Road in Austagram, Kishoreganj

Severe and ongoing riverbank erosion at the confluence of the Dhaleshwari and Meghna rivers in Bangalpara Union, Austagram, Kishoreganj, has destroyed 1.5 km of the all-weather road. The incident, which escalated over several months, has cut off road access for thousands, caused power outages, displaced 10 families, and resulted in the loss of approximately 400 acres of land. Government agencies are currently addressing the mitigation efforts amid coordination challenges.
