Severe Waterlogging in Shyamnagar Due to Canal Blockage and Encroachment

Severe waterlogging in Ramjannagar Union, Shyamnagar, Satkhira, caused by the blockage of the Jhurjhuri canal and unplanned infrastructure. Approximately 1,000 bighas of agricultural land in Vhetkhali, Taranipur, and Manikkhali bills have been submerged. The crisis, exacerbated by canal encroachment for fish farming, has severely impacted the livelihoods of hundreds of farming families and the marginalized Munda community, leading to destroyed crops and endangered homes.
