Road collapse and widespread waterlogging in Chuadanga due to heavy rainfall

Continuous heavy rainfall in Chuadanga since July 9-10, 2026, has led to severe waterlogging across four upazilas and triggered infrastructure damage, including a 15-foot section collapse of the Joyrampur-Kumaridah road and areas near Jayrampur Kathaltala market. The situation is compounded by rising water levels in the Mathabhanga River, threatening riverbank erosion in Hatibhanga village. Damage was exacerbated by heavy rain and, in some locations, illegal sand mining, disrupting local communication and damaging crops.
