Due to upstream mountain runoff and continuous heavy rainfall, the Teesta River water level reached 15 cm above the danger mark at Dalia Point. This event, occurring for the fourth time in two months, left 5,000 families across 10 unions in Nilphamari and Lalmonirhat districts stranded. While water levels at Dalia Point subsequently fell below the danger mark, residents in Dimla and Jaldhaka upazilas remain waterlogged, facing a crisis of clean drinking water and food, with intense riverbank erosion spreading panic.
