Mason killed after falling into a septic tank due to snapped rope

On July 2, 2026, a 27-year-old mason named Alam Islam died after falling into a septic tank at a construction site in Ashulia, Savar, when the rope he was using to descend snapped. His colleagues recovered him, but he was declared dead upon arrival at the Ashulia Women and Children Health Centre.
