Flash flood in Jhenaigati, Sherpur causes market inundation and embankment breaches

Heavy rainfall and upstream runoff from the Maharashi River caused flooding in Jhenaigati, Sherpur, on June 13, 2026. The flash flood inundated the local Sadar market and nearby roads, disrupting business. Furthermore, embankment breaches at four locations, including Ramerkura Purba Para, Khoilkura, and Dighirpar, led to the destruction of three residential homes.
