Illegal sand extraction from the Meghna river causing severe erosion in Ashuganj

Illegal sand extraction by a syndicate using over 50 dredgers in the Meghna river has caused severe riverbank erosion in Char Sonarampur village. The activity has led to the loss of residential homes and threatens critical national infrastructure, including electricity grid towers and vital bridge structures in Ashuganj, Brahmanbaria.
