Fire at Fakir Market in Bhurungamari Bazaar, Kurigram destroys 105 shops

A major fire broke out at the Fakir Market in the Kaporpotti area of Bhurungamari Upazila Bazaar, Kurigram, on Friday morning. The incident destroyed approximately 105 shops, causing an estimated financial loss of 10 to 15 crore BDT. Fire service units from Nageshwari and Phulbari brought the blaze under control within two hours; the cause is suspected to be an electrical short circuit.
