Severe riverbank erosion caused by the Sandhya, Sugandha, and Arial Khan rivers has resulted in the destruction of over 200 homes, educational institutions, mosques, and critical infrastructure in Babuganj, Barishal. Illegal sand extraction is reportedly exacerbating the situation, causing persistent displacement for local residents.
