Thirty Bangladeshi citizens were trafficked to Russia under the guise of construction jobs and coerced into the Russia-Ukraine war. Recent reports confirm at least 20 deaths among the victims due to a drone strike, with 4 others reported injured. The Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment has suspended the licenses of recruitment agencies involved, including RS International, TS Overseas, and Jabale Nur International. Law enforcement has also arrested two suspects, Mizanur Rahman and Abu Taher alias Lentu, linked to the trafficking ring.
