Husband and wife killed in road accident along Dhaka-Chattagram Highway in Daudkandi, Cumilla

On the morning of October 13, 2026, a husband and wife, Nazrul Islam (62) and Jhorna Begum (48), were struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing the Dhaka-Chattagram Highway in the Haripur area near the mosque in Daudkandi, Cumilla. Local highway police recovered the bodies and transported them to the Daudkandi Upazila Health Complex for inquest. An investigation, including a review of CCTV footage, is underway to identify the vehicle and driver.
