Police pickup carrying detainees overturns in Madaripur, one police officer killed

On September 3, 2026, a police pickup truck carrying four detainees overturned in the Matherbazar/Pokhira area of Khoyajpur Union, Madaripur Sadar, while attempting to avoid a pedestrian/child crossing the road. The accident resulted in the death of Police Constable Abdus Salam and injuries to ten others, including police personnel, suspects, and pedestrians. Victims were transferred to hospitals in Dhaka for advanced treatment.
