Riverbank erosion in Baherchar village of Patuakhali leaves 20 families homeless

Severe erosion by the Payra river in Baherchar village, Dumki, Patuakhali, has destroyed numerous homesteads, displacing 20 families who are now living on public roads. Over 150 families have been rendered destitute in total, with essential infrastructure including a government primary school and a mosque currently at risk of being swallowed by the river.
