Ship sinks off Thai coast, 16 Bangladeshi sailors rescued

A Panama-flagged container vessel, MV Siloied Arc, sank off the coast of Phuket, Thailand, on February 7, 2026, while en route from Malaysia's Port Klang to Chattogram. All 16 Bangladeshi crew members were successfully rescued by a fishing vessel and the Thai Navy and are reported to be in good health.
