Two children died of measles, not just symptoms

A measles outbreak in Chittagong has been confirmed following laboratory tests in Dhaka, identifying that two children previously reported as dying from symptoms had actually died from measles. As of May 20, 2026, 143 cases have been confirmed, with 9 new infections in the last 24 hours and 71 children newly admitted to hospitals with symptoms.
