Four residential houses swallowed by the Sangu river in Banshkhali

On Wednesday morning at 7:00 AM, the Sangu River in Pukurya, Banshkhali, caused severe riverbank erosion, destroying four residential homes. The affected families, including those of Nurul Kabir, Ruhul Kabir, Azizul Haque, Rashid Ahmed, and Abdul Monaf, are now homeless. Local officials and the Water Development Board visited the site as residents blame illegal sand mining and sedimentation for the intensified erosion, which also threatens local fishing communities.
