On July 7-8, 2026, multiple fishing trawlers including 'FB Jomaddar', 'FB Mahima', and others capsized in the Bay of Bengal, near Fakirhat, Taltali (Barguna) and Patuakhali, due to rough weather. Of the 18 fishermen involved, 16 were rescued and sent to Mohipur Thana Health Complex for treatment, while 2 fishermen remain missing and search operations are underway by authorities and the local association.
