Recovery of Jahangirnagar University student Dip Majumder's body from the Buriganga River in Bosila, Dhaka

The body of Dip Majumder, a 50th-batch student of the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology department at Jahangirnagar University, was recovered from the Buriganga River near the Bosila Bridge in Dhaka on June 14, 2026. The student had been missing for two days prior to the recovery. Police identified the victim using identification documents found in his pocket. His body was identified by family members at Sir Salimullah Medical College (Mitford) Hospital, where it was sent for an autopsy.
