Severe Jamuna riverbank erosion in Daulatpur and Shibalaya, Manikganj destroys over 300 homes and threatens critical infrastructure

Persistent riverbank erosion along the Jamuna River in Baghutia Union of Daulatpur and Shibalaya, Manikganj, has destroyed over 300 homesteads and significant agricultural land, including parts of the Char Kalikapur Shukuria Dakhil Madrasa. Erosion threatens Baghutia Omar Ali High School, the local market, and numerous homes. The Water Development Board is deploying 18,000 geo-bags to mitigate damage.
