Total Shutdown and Subsequent Resumption of Barapukuria Thermal Power Plant

The 125 MW Unit 1 of the Barapukuria Thermal Power Plant in Parbatipur, Dinajpur, experienced a total shutdown starting at 10:02 PM on April 22, 2026, due to a boiler pipe burst and a cooling fan failure caused by stones mixed with coal. Electricity generation resumed after a 47-hour shutdown. No human casualties were reported.
