Student in ICU after Common Krait bite at Rajshahi University; protests ensue

Nurnabi Islam, a student in room 138 of Rajshahi University's Shahid Shamsuzzoha Hall, was bitten by a venomous Common Krait while sleeping early Sunday morning on September 27, 2026. He was admitted to the ICU at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, where he received three doses of anti-venom and is currently reported to be out of danger. Following the incident, students staged protests demanding administrative accountability, improved campus sanitation, and safety measures.
