A suspicious device containing a time bomb, electrical circuits, iron pipes, and two bottles of petrol was discovered near the Lalon Shah Shrine/Akhra Bari in Cheuria, Kumarkhali, Kushtia, during the 136th death anniversary event. Law enforcement cordoned off the area and evacuated the premises. The CTTC/DMP bomb disposal unit from Dhaka successfully neutralized the device. The incident caused significant distress and concern, leading to the departure of many devotees and pilgrims. Security measures included the deployment of two platoons of BGB. Investigations are ongoing, focusing on a missing tea vendor and evidence recovered from the site, which suggests an intent to cause a fire and panic during the commemoration event.
