19 Cyclone Shelters Lost to Erosion in Banshkhali

In Banshkhali, Chattogram, 19 cyclone shelters have been lost to coastal and riverbank erosion, while 28 others remain in a dangerous, dilapidated state. Despite the region's high vulnerability to cyclones, lack of maintenance and mismanagement have rendered most existing shelters unfit for use, leaving local populations without adequate safety infrastructure.
