4-Year Power Outage in Madanpur Union, Daulatkhan

Since June 23, 2022, residents of Madanpur Union in Daulatkhan, Bhola, have been without electricity after submarine power cables under the Meghna River were severed by the unplanned anchoring of large vessels. The prolonged 4-year outage affects approximately 800 customers and 15,000 to 20,000 residents, leading to significant economic losses, theft of electrical infrastructure, and severe disruption to education and local livelihoods.
