A boiler explosion occurred on June 25, 2026, at the Dhaka Pyrolysis Company, a tire-processing/furnace oil factory, in Baliadanga, Bishwanathpara, Ujanchar Union, Goalanda, Rajbari. Two workers, Sohel Rana (24) and Shawon Munda (16), sustained severe burn injuries (60% and 70%) while processing old tires in the boiler and subsequently died at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka on June 29, 2026.
