A fertilizer and gypsum-laden truck crashed through a barrier and onto the tracks at Basantapur rail gate in Rajbari Sadar on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 4:00 AM after the driver's assistant, who was operating the vehicle, fell asleep. The incident caused significant schedule delays and disrupted train operations on the Dhaka-Khulna-Rajshahi route for over six hours. The track was cleared at 10:00 AM; no casualties were reported.
