Fire in a scrap-laden lorry on Dhaka-Chattagram Highway in Sitakunda

On July 28, 2026, a scrap-carrying truck caught fire due to a mechanical failure while traveling on the Dhaka-Chattagram Highway near the Fakirhat-Kalushah Mazar Overbridge and Faujdarhat pedestrian bridge in Sitakunda, Chattagram. The incident caused approximately 20 lakh BDT in damage to the vehicle's engine and temporarily obstructed traffic flow. The fire was extinguished by the Kumira Fire Service and Highway Police by 7:00 PM.
