Heavy monsoon rainfall and upstream water flow have triggered severe riverbank erosion along the Little Feni, Muhuri, Silonia, and Kalidas Pahalia rivers, devastating villages in Feni and Noakhali districts. The erosion has been exacerbated by the collapse of the Musapur regulator in August 2024, destroying over 300 households and causing mass displacement and loss of critical infrastructure in Sonagazi, Daganbhuiyan, Feni Sadar, and Companiganj upazilas.
