Bijoy Express train derailed in Mymensingh; services resumed after 18.5 hours

Three bogies of the Chattogram-bound Bijoy Express train derailed at the Gouripur Railway Junction station area in Mymensingh on Wednesday night due to a signaling system failure. Rail connectivity remained suspended for 18.5 hours until the recovery of the bogies and completion of repairs. Two investigation committees have been formed to determine the cause of the incident.
