2024 Feni District Flash Floods

In August 2024, flash floods caused by the overflow of the Muhuri, Kahua, and Silonia rivers submerged several upazilas in Feni district, including Parshuram, Fulgazi, Chhagalnaiya, Feni Sadar, and Sonagazi, resulting in at least 29 deaths and extensive economic and infrastructure damage. This event has prompted the government to prioritize the Muhuri-Kahua flood control project.
