Death of Bangladeshi Citizens and Savar Businessman in Kolkata Hotel Fire

A fire, triggered by an air conditioner explosion, occurred at a residential hotel on Mirza Ghalib Street near New Market, Kolkata, India, on August 19, 2026. The incident resulted in 9 total fatalities. The bodies of the Bangladeshi victims were repatriated to Bangladesh through the Benapole land port. Victims include Ahmed Babu from Savar, Debashish Dutta, Afsana Sharmin, Swarnashish Dutta, Akram Ali, and Jobayer Babu.
