Mass fish mortality in Barnai River due to contamination

A large-scale fish die-off has occurred in the Barnai River, stretching from Noldanga, Natore to Taherpur, Bagmara, Rajshahi. The pollution, suspected to be caused by jute processing waste, industrial chemicals, and poultry farm runoff, has caused oxygen depletion in the water, posing health risks to residents and threatening local fishing livelihoods.
