NCP leader Fayaz Tajrian (26) killed in motorcycle collision with stationary truck on Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Flyover in Chattogram

On Tuesday night, July 7, 2026, 26-year-old National Citizens Party (NCP) leader Fayaz Tajrian died in a motorcycle accident while heading to watch a football match. His motorcycle collided with a stationary, broken-down truck (covered van) on the Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Flyover (also known as the Shahid Wasim Akram flyover) in the GEC area of Chattogram. Contributing factors included poor visibility, rain, and slippery road conditions. Police responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital.
