Eid-ul-Adha 2026 Nationwide Transport Accident Report: 438 Deaths

The Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity released a comprehensive report on transport accidents during the Eid-ul-Adha period (May 21 to June 4, 2026). A total of 442 incidents occurred across road, rail, and waterway transport, resulting in 438 fatalities and 1,340 injuries. Specifically, 394 road accidents caused 402 deaths, 31 rail accidents caused 23 deaths, and 17 waterway incidents caused 13 deaths. Major factors included reckless driving, vehicle defects, and poor road conditions.
