Tidal Flooding and Surge Across Southern Bangladesh

Nine rivers in southern Bangladesh are flowing above danger levels due to a combination of a low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal and new moon tidal influences. The flooding has submerged low-lying areas and char lands across Barishal, Bhola, Pirojpur, Barguna, Jhalokathi, and Patuakhali districts, displacing over 700 families and disrupting transportation at ferry and launch ghats.
