Death of a gold trader due to acid ingestion in Chattogram

A 35-year-old gold trader, Rajib Bonik, died after consuming acid at his jewelry store in the Mohora area of Chandgaon, Chattogram. The incident occurred on the night of July 17, 2026, and he passed away shortly after midnight on July 18, 2026, while undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
