Lecturer sentenced to 21 years for shooting medical student in Sirajganj

On March 4, 2024, Dr. Raihan Sharif, a lecturer at Shahid M. Monsur Ali Medical College, shot student Arafat Amin Tomal in the leg during a class. On May 18, 2026, a Sirajganj court sentenced the lecturer to 21 years in prison for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition used in the incident.
