Passport seizure incident involving seven Bangladeshi workers in Iraq

Following reports from expatriates in Iraq, the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare directed the Bangladesh Embassy to investigate. Officials found seven Bangladeshi workers had their passports illegally confiscated by their employer; the passports were recovered on May 20, 2026.
