Ongoing Dengue outbreak in Chattogram: 2,621 cases and 7 deaths reported as of September 9, 2026

As of September 9, 2026, the ongoing dengue outbreak in Chattogram has reached 2,621 cumulative confirmed cases and 7 deaths. In the 24 hours preceding this report, 73 new dengue hospitalizations and one death were recorded. Previously, as of September 8, 174 patients were receiving care at major facilities including CMCH, BITID, and the 250-bed General Hospital, while 2,374 patients had recovered. The outbreak is impacting the entire district, with significant concentrations in Karnaphuli and Sitakunda upazilas.
