Ongoing Border Tensions and Push-in Attempts in Northern Bangladesh

Since late June 2026, intensified border surveillance and joint patrol efforts by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and local villagers have been reported across six northern districts. These measures aim to counter illegal push-in attempts by the BSF, which have been occurring during the night to force individuals into Bangladeshi territory without legal processing.
