Food Support for Registered Fishermen During Fishing Ban in Sundarbans

The government has initiated a food support program for 8,271 registered fishermen in the Sundarbans region who are facing livelihood crises due to the mandatory three-month fishing ban from June to August 2026. A total of 6,662 tonnes of rice has been allocated to support these families across Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, and Mongla to ensure food security.
