Indian Air Ambulance Door Opens Mid-Air, Patient Dies After Emergency Landing in Dhaka

An Indian air ambulance (model C90A, Beechcraft King Air, registration VT-HYA) experienced a mid-air door malfunction at 12,000 feet while flying from Agartala to Kolkata. The pilot performed an emergency landing at 1:40 PM at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. The patient on board, Anjana Bhowmik, was transported to Kurmitola General Hospital where she was declared dead.
