Death of a mother due to lack of surgical services at Raipur Upazila Health Complex

Ratna Begum, a 30-year-old woman, died on Friday morning following childbirth complications when she was denied necessary surgical assistance at the Raipur Upazila Health Complex. Despite having a functional operating theatre and equipment, the hospital has been unable to provide surgical services for two years due to a chronic shortage of surgeons and anaesthesiologists.
