Collision between Paharika Express and sand-laden vehicle in Sonapahar, Mirsharai

On the morning of June 7, 2026, the Sylhet-bound Paharika Express collided with a sand-laden pickup van at an illegal/unmanned level crossing in the Sonapahar Darbartila area of Jorarganj Union, Mirsharai, Chattogram. No casualties were reported as the vehicle's occupants (driver and helper) escaped before the collision. The accident caused a significant disruption to rail traffic on the Dhaka-Chattogram route for approximately 7 hours until the tracks were cleared.
