Fire at Palli Bidyut Grid Substation in Barguna, 10 Unions Without Power

A fire caused by an explosion occurred at the 33-11 KV grid substation in Khejurtala (Khajurtala), Barguna Sadar on the night of July 6, 2026. The incident, caused by a technical fault, damaged essential electrical components including an 11 KV ACR, resulting in a power outage for approximately 67,000 customers across 10 unions in the upazila. Repair efforts are currently underway and no human casualties were reported.
