Landmine explosion on Ghumdhum border; man's ankle blown off
On June 24, 2026, a landmine explosion occurred 400 meters inside the Bangladesh border at Reju Amtoli, Ghumdhum, Naikhongchhari. Md. Shafi (35) was seriously injured while working in a garden, suffering the loss of his right ankle and a fractured left knee. He was rescued by locals and admitted to the MSF hospital in Kutupalong.
